Be You offers a range of tools, information and resources that can be used to help get you started, or to build on the great work you are already doing.
Inclusive practices are vital for ensuring that everyone including children, families and colleagues feels valued and respected and have access to opportunities and resources.
If your current priority is looking at embedding or developing further inclusive practices, there are Fact Sheets, webinars, Professional Learning, online activities and resources that can help.
Be You has been developed to respond to your service’s current priorities and learning needs.
Reflect
Registered Be You Learning Communities can access the Implementation and Reflection Tool to reflect on what inclusive practices are already in place in your service and the areas where growth may be possible.
Learn
A great place to start might be the Always Be You suite of resources which brings Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of being, knowing and doing into your service. There is an eBook which contains information about cultural safety and inclusion while the Action Charts are a great way to reflect on and demonstrate your commitment to inclusion.
Be You also has a series of Fact Sheets supporting Inclusion which look at the importance of Relationships, Cultural Diversity and Mental Health and Supporting Cultural Diversity.
If you would like to complete some professional learning, take a look at the Include Module within the Mentally Healthy Communities Domain.
Watch
Watching an In Focus webinar can be a great way for a team to start thinking about their own practice together. You could take a look at Diversity Matters for Mental Health or Always Be You; Conversations and Connections for Mental Health.
Join the conversation
If you would like to discuss this further, and hear what other services are doing you could join in our Early Years Learning Communities, such as Diversity Matters, Let's talk Reconciliation - you me and the community or Exploring concepts of ability. You can also come along to a National Check-In to talk about your Be You engagement with a Consultant.
Plan
If you would like to develop a plan that is unique to your service’s implementation of Be You, you can chat with your Be You Consultant. You might also like to use the Action Plan to consider and document where to start and the actions you will take.
