Professional Learning frequently asked questions

  • What are the Be You Professional Learning modules?

At the heart of Be You is a framework that provides educators and leaders with a structure for professional learning. This includes actions early learning services and schools can take to implement a whole learning community approach to children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing.

Be You Professional Learning consists of 16 content modules grouped under five domains, with content centred around mentally healthy learning communities. Once an educator has signed up to Be You, they can access the modules and track their progress via their dashboard.
  • How are the enhanced modules different?

Be You Professional Learning modules have been extensively reviewed. Enhancements include:

    • Alignment of all modules to a consistent structure
    • Each module is now a unique learning experience
    • Reframed learning outcomes to include the importance and broader context of the learner’s knowledge
    • Content moved between modules to create a more consistent and relevant flow of information
    • An improved learner experience for all modules
    • Additional conventions established to help guide the learner
    • Enhanced reflection questions and suggested activities to help educators consider and apply learning in their context and collaborate with their colleagues.
  • Can I access the previous versions of the module?

Once the enhanced modules are launched, educators will no longer be able to access the previous versions of the modules. However, the enhanced modules use the same content in a more accessible, relevant and learner-friendly format.
  • What happens if I am partway through a module?

Educators will have until the enhanced modules go live to progress through partly completed modules. After this date, the previous versions of the modules will no longer be available. Educators will need to restart the enhanced module in order to complete it.
  • What happens if I am partway through a domain?

Fully completed modules will be recorded on an educator’s dashboard. Educators can complete a domain by progressing through all modules within that domain. This can be a combination of the previous versions and the enhanced versions of the modules.

For information on how this impacts accreditation, please see ‘Are the enhanced modules accredited with TQI and NESA?’ below.

  • Can I access my certificate for modules I have already completed?

Yes. Educators will still be able to access certificates for any modules they have previously completed. These can be accessed and downloaded from the dashboard.
  • Are the enhanced modules accredited with TQI?

Be You Professional Learning meets the requirements for teacher-identified professional learning across all states and territories.

In the ACT, modules will continue to contribute to TQI-accredited professional development hours.

Further details can be found on each module page.

  • Are the enhanced modules accredited with NESA?

Be You Professional Learning meets the requirements for teacher-identified professional learning across all states and territories.

In NSW, before the enhanced modules go live, educators must complete the entire domain to receive accredited hours

Once the enhanced modules are live, individual modules will contribute to NESA-accredited professional development hours. Accredited hours cannot be given for individual modules completed before this date.

Further details can be found on each module page.

  • Can I gain NESA or TQI accredited hours for the enhanced modules if I have already completed the previous versions?

Yes. The enhanced modules will be recorded as new completions and will contribute to NESA and TQI accredited professional development hours.

In the ACT, module completion by all users is uploaded weekly to the TQI portal.

In NSW, domain completion by all users is uploaded to the NESA portal monthly within the first six business days of the month.
